I’m not sure who coined the term “armchair imagineering,” and to tell the truth, I do most of my imagineering in the car or sitting at my desk. In fact, not only do I not dream in an armchair, I don’t even own one. I also am not entirely sure if the term itself is a compliment, but it seems to be the accepted term in the Disney community for what I intend to do with this blog.
You might be thinking that there are plenty of blogs out there that are about the same topic, but most of those other places are simply threads in a forum. I intend to take it to the next level. I will be as detailed as possible with my ideas and include sketches, concept art, posters, and anything I possibly can to enhance the description and give a visual to go with my words.
I am not now and will never be qualified to add anything to what the legendary Imagineering icons of the past and the talented current artists and engineers have done, I only hope to spark a conversation among friends or a thought in someone’s mind. I am a former Walt Disney World cast member, a professional graphic designer, a lifelong Disney fan, and most importantly, a dreamer. These are simply the opinions and ideas of a common fan.
Let me know your thoughts.
